SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers’ price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Price change ($/mt)

10.07.2018

Marmara

600-610

-

Thrace

595-600

-

Izmir

590-600

-

Iskenderun

590-600

-

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

Having decreased due to weak demand and the softening of import scrap prices in the previous week, prices in the local Turkish wire rod market have remained stable over the past week. Buyers in the construction sector are unwilling to replenish stocks due to the sharp fluctuations of the Turkish lira-US dollar currency rate and are concluding deals only to meet their immediate needs. Accordingly, demand for domestic wire rod in Turkish market has recorded no recovery over the past week, remaining slack.
