Local Turkish rebar spot prices move up in local currency

Local rebar spot prices in Turkey have increased in all regions as the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar is weighing on prices.

Today, November 5, Turkish mill Icdas has increased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 8/mt to TRY 2,458/mt ($428/mt) ex-works, while Izmir Demir Celik opened its 12-32 mm rebar prices at the unchanged level of TRY 2,432/mt ($424 mt) ex-works, closing its rebar sales in the afternoon. Both prices in question exclude VAT Additionally, market sources report that Turkish rebar mills are offering discounts of TRY 20-40/mt including VAT for serious buyers.
