Today, July 16, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 10-20/mt ($1-3/mt) compared to the beginning of this week. The general range is currently at TRY 3,420-3,440/mt ($422-425/mt) ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are currently offering rebar at TRY 3,440-3,450/mt ($425-426/mt) ex-works. Sources report approximately 5,000 mt of rebar has been traded at around TRY 3,440/mt($425/mt) ex-works in the Marmara region. Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has also closed its rebar sales in the afternoon today. Moreover, approximately 25,000 mt of rebar has traded in Izmir region at ($420-422/mt) ex-works as of today, SteelOrbis has learned.
In the Iskenderun region, the lack of rebar supply is still an issue in this region. Koc Metallurgy has recently been offering rebar at TRY 3,470/mt ($429/mt) ex-works, while Bastug A.S is offering 12 mm rebar at TRY 3,480/mt ($430/mt) ex-works. Koc Metallurgy has closed its rebar sales in the afternoon today.
