As of today, April 7, official wire rod prices in Turkey have mostly risen by $5-10/mt depending on the region compared to April 3, amid costlier energy and higher import scrap prices. However, most buyers are in wait-and-see mode, postponing their purchases so far. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to be testing a wire rod price of $615/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt over the same period, depending on the tonnage and payment terms.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have settled at $615-625/mt ex-works, also only up by $5/mt on the lower end over the same period, amid sluggish demand and ongoing currency fluctuations.
