As of today, April 21, official wire rod prices in Turkey have increased by $5-10/mt in the Izmir and Iskenderun regions, while remaining stable in the rest of the country, as compared to April 14, amid ongoing currency fluctuations and higher import scrap prices. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to be testing a wire rod price of $620/mt ex-works, up by $10/mt over the same period, depending on the tonnage and payment terms.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have settled at $615-620/mt ex-works, indicating an increase of $10/mt on the lower end over the same period. Additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers and cash payment.
