Turkish merchant bar producers have kept their prices stable in the Izmir and Denizli regions in the local currency over the past week, though their prices have fallen by $5/mt on US dollar basis against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations. In addition, merchant bar prices in the Karabuk and Iskenderun regions have fallen by TRY 100-950/mt ($7-20/mt) over the past week. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 24,900/mt ($605/mt) ex-works today.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in late September-October or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most buyers are refraining from new purchases due to the ongoing depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar.
