Turkish local merchant bar prices have moved up by TRY 40-100/mt week on week due to depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. However, prices have decreased by $7/mt on the lower end and increased by $2/mt on the upper end due to the fluctuations recorded in the exchange rate. Market sources state that demand in the local Turkish merchant bar market has increased slightly. On the other hand, it is too early to say whether local buyers are increasing their stock levels.
Meanwhile, domestic angle prices in Turkey currently at TRY 2,540-2,790/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. Market sources state that merchant bar producers offer discounts of TRY 20-40/mt for serious buyers in few regions. Below prices are given for cash payment.
