Local Turkish merchant bar prices have increased in all regions due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. However, domestic merchant bar prices in Turkey’s Denizli and Izmir regions have increased by a larger margin compared to the other regions, rising by TRY 60/mt in the given period, as local billet prices in the Izmir region are higher compared to other regions.
Meanwhile, domestic angle prices in Turkey are currently at TRY 2,570-2,840/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. Market sources state that merchant bar producers are offering discounts of TRY 30-50/mt for serious buyers in a few regions due to sluggish demand. The prices given below are for cash payment:
