SteelOrbis has been informed that domestic merchant bar prices in Turkey have decreased in all local regions at different rates due to sluggish demand and the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Domestic merchant bar prices in the Denizli and Izmır regions have decreased by TRY 50, while prices in the Iskenderun region have fallen by TRY 120/mt, with prices in the Karabuk region declining by TRY 15/mt.
Meanwhile, domestic angle prices in Turkey are currently at TRY 2,550-2,700/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. Market sources state that merchant bar producers are offering discounts of TRY 20-40/mt for definite orders in most regions.
