Turkish merchant bar producers have adjusted their local prices in line with currency fluctuations. Over the past two weeks, only Iskenderun-based merchant bar producers have increased their prices, by TRY 20/mt, while other producers have decreased their prices by TRY 40-70/mt. Merchant bar prices in the Izmir and Denizli regions are higher than in the other regions amid higher billet prices. Sources report that most buyers are holding back from new purchases ahead of the holiday. As a result, serious buyers are being granted good discounts for immediate and cash purchases.
