Turkish mills’ domestic merchant bar offers have moved down by TRY 55/mt as compared to SteelOrbis’ report published on May 31 to TRY 2,940-3,240/mt ($501-552/mt) ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. It is observed that this decrease in domestic merchant bar prices is a result of the lower scrap quotations, weak demand conditions, not-very-strong export sales and political uncertainties in Turkey.
