Local Italian rebar prices move down

In the Italian domestic rebar market, local producers’ prices have decreased by €10/mt week on week to €370-380/mt ($407-418/mt) ex-works, with trading activity remaining very low. Meanwhile, the Italian rebar market is still negatively affected by the lack of rebar exports to Algeria, since Algeria has not yet released rebar import licenses.

According to market sources, more than 100,000 mt of rebar are stuck at Italian ports waiting to be shipped. This situation might significantly influence the production activities of Italian rebar producers during May.
