As predicted by some sources last week, domestic rebar offer prices in the Italian market have decreased further compared to a week ago. Due to low demand, they have declined by €10-15/mt week on week to €510-515/mt ($597-603/mt) ex-works. Meanwhile, Italian producers are offering rebar to central European countries at around €510/mt ($597/mt) ex-works for deliveries by trucks. As for overseas sales, demand is quiet at the moment since US buyers are in wait-and-see-mode. SteelOrbis has learned that the latest transactions happened about twenty days ago at a price of €500/mt ($585/mt) FOB, while today most Italian producers might be willing to offer rebar at a price €10/mt lower.
