SteelOrbis has been informed that, today, December 1, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has hiked its rebar price by TRY 300/mt ($9/mt), as compared to Tuesday, November 28, to TRY 21,300/mt ($614/mt) ex-works, against the backdrop of costlier import scrap. In addition, the mill has increased its wire rod price by $10/mt to $630/mt ex-works over the same period. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 28.93 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.

Currently, a few Turkish mills are offering rebar at $585-610/mt ex-works today, including Icdas A.S. A few mills have already closed their rebar sales and are expected to issue new rebar prices early next week.

One Marmara-based mill succeeded in selling 6,000 mt of rebar at $600/mt ex-works earlier today and closed its rebar sales in the afternoon.

$1 = TRY 28.93
