SteelOrbis has been informed that earlier today, February 3, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill kept its rebar price stable at TRY 24,500/mt ($567/mt) ex-works, compared to Wednesday, January 29, for an extended delivery period, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and costlier import scrap. The mill's rebar price has remained unchanged in the local currency, while falling by $3/mt on US dollar basis over the same period. However, the mill increased its rebar price by TRY 500/mt($12/mt) to TRY 25,000/mt ($579/mt) ex-works in the afternoon. In addition, the producer has raised its wire rod price by $10/mt to $580/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 36.00 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
