SteelOrbis has been informed that today, January 27, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has raised its rebar price by TRY 200/mt ($4/mt) to TRY 24,100/mt ($562/mt) ex-works compared to Thursday, January 23, for an extended delivery period, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations. In addition, the producer has kept its wire rod price stable at $570/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 35.73 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
According to sources, the workable rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $540-555/mt ex-works, down by $10/mt on the lower end over the same period, for serious buyers and cash payment only.
