SteelOrbis has been informed that today, August 21, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has issued its official mesh grade wire rod price at TRY 16,050/mt ($591/mt), ex-works, excluding VAT. This wire rod price indicates a TRY 330/mt ($11/mt) increase compared to Thursday, August 17, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. It issued its rebar price at TRY 19,000/mt ($583/mt) this afternoon, up by TRY 300/mt ($8/mt) over the same period. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 27.17 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.

The mill closed its longs sales late this afternoon.

$1 = TRY 27.17
