SteelOrbis has been informed that today, January 10, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has cut its rebar price by TRY 500/mt ($13/mt) to TRY 23,700/mt ($557/mt) ex-works, compared to Tuesday, January 7, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment, for an extended delivery period. In addition, the producer has kept its wire rod price at $580/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 35.44 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
According to sources, the workable rebar prices vary at $555-560/mt ex-works in the Marmara and Izmir regions for serious buyers and cash payment only.
