SteelOrbis has been informed that today, January 17, an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill has cut its rebar price by TRY 100/mt ($4/mt) to TRY 23,600/mt ($553/mt) ex-works, compared to Friday, January 10, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, for an extended delivery period. In addition, the producer has also cut its wire rod price, by $10/mt to $570/mt ex-works, also for an extended delivery period. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 35.56 as the mill itself has not indicated any specific exchange rate.
According to sources, the workable rebar prices vary at $550-560/mt ex-works in the Marmara and Izmir regions for serious buyers and cash payment only. In addition, the workable rebar price in the Iskenderun region stands at TRY 23,300/mt ($546/mt) ex-works, for serious buyers only.
