While the global markets have been generally quiet this week ahead of the holidays, Iranian mills continue to float fresh billet tenders, even though no sales have been reported from the previous tenders.
Iran;s Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) has announced a new export tender for 20,000-50,000 mt of prime steel billet, with a deadline of December 27, 2024, for bids. The cargo would be ready for the first half of February.
Earlier, two other Iranian exporters announced tenders for up to 30,000 mt of billet for January and February deliveries, but there has been no information in the market about actual sales. The workable level is estimated at not higher than $450/mt FOB, although this level may be accepted only in the GCC, SteelOrbis understands.
