Iran’s Chadormalu Mining and Industrial company has recently announced an export tender for 30,000 mt 150 mm square billet of 3SP/5SP steel grade. The cargo is to be loaded from Bandar Abbas port and for the delivery in the middle of February. The validity of the tender is December 24, 2024. Earlier this week, a 10,000-30,000 mt billet sale has been launched by Sout Kish Kaveh Steel Company with no information about the concluded deals just yet.
The workable price levels for ex-Iran billet are estimated at around $450/mt FOB, although no fresh deals have been reported for several weeks now, at least for large tonnages and from the first-tier mills. “New round of irregularities in energy distribution is on again and we don't know how it is going to effect the export as we did not see any deal recently. I don't believe that we can expect higher than $450/mt to $460/mt,” a market source told SteelOrbis.
