Iranian steel mill Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company is reported to have floated an export tender for 30,000 mt of steel billet. The material is destined to be delivered at the beginning of September. The deadline for bids is Tuesday, September 6.

As SteelOrbis reported earlier, the reference ex-Iran billet price has been lowered indicatively by $5/mt compared to the previous levels to $450-455/mt FOB due to the mounting uncertainties regarding sustainable demand. Nevertheless, it is not excluded that Iranian steelmakers will continue to seek higher prices in the coming trades, namely in the range of $460-465/mt FOB, with the success of their efforts remaining to be seen.
