As buyers in Algeria, one of Greek rebar exporters main target markets, have preferred to purchase domestically produced rebar instead of imports due to the more attractive prices in question, demand for Greek rebar in this market has remained weak after the Easter holiday.

Market sources state that construction activities have accelerated amid better weather conditions, and so Greek rebar producers are aiming to maintain their current export offers unchanged in expectation of a revival in demand in the short term. During the past week, Greek rebar export quotations have moved sideways at €495-500/mt ($609-615/mt) FOB.
