According to a local exporter, the Brazilian export rebar price continues to trend at $486/mt, FOB conditions, having the CA50 10mm thickness product as reference.

Such price is in force for fresh deals since an eight percent increase on May 1, while previous deals are negotiated on a case-by-case basis, the source said, adding that he expects that by the end of the month, all sales will be based on the new price.

In April, Gerdau exported rebar at an average price of $462/mt, while the Votorantim group exported at $496/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in February.
