The reference price range for Brazilian rebar exports to South American countries is $570/mt to $580/mt, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same range as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

According to sources, price increases are not ruled out in the short term, as it is not clear if the recent increase in billets prices, used as feedstock to produce long products, were entirely absorbed by the rebar market.

In November, ArcelorMittal exported 14,000 mt of rebar at $601/mt to Bolivia, 9,300 mt at $522/mt to Peru and 300 mt at $604/mt to Paraguay, while Gerdau exported 10,900 mt at $468/mt to Colombia, and 900 mt at $598/mt to Paraguay.
