Turkish suppliers are taking their time to conclude new deals as international demand is quiet amid the upcoming holiday period both in European countries and Muslim countries. As a result, most merchant bar re-rollers have kept their export prices unchanged over the last two weeks, with additional discounts for serious buyers.

Specifically, ex-Turkey equal angles are currently standing at $770-800/mt FOB. Turkish mills are mainly offering merchant bars for late August-September shipments, with a few re-rollers in the market with longer lead times. Turkish merchant bar re-rollers are also relieved after the European Union’s quota extension announcement for another three years, while they are also closely watching the possible impact of the Russian export duty decision. Moreover, a few inquiries have been also received from Latin America, SteelOrbis has learned.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Angle

770-800

IPN-UPN

780-810

Flat bar

800-830

IPE

All prices are on FOB basis and for late August-September shipment.
