In the local Turkish wire rod market, demand has picked up slightly compared to the previous week, but is still at low levels. Scrap prices started to soften after the first week of January and continued to decline until early February with occasional sharp declines. The downtrend in scrap prices came to an end on February 3, with an ex-US scrap booking price which was higher than previous ex-US scrap booking price levels. Supported by scrap bookings heard today, February 7, local Turkish wire rod offers have moved up, also due to the slightly improved demand.
