Demand remains weak for Turkish merchant bar exports

During the past two weeks, international demand for Turkish merchant bar has remained at low levels. As a result, Turkish merchant bar export prices have declined slightly. Due to the rises recorded both in domestically produced and import billet quotations, production costs of Turkish merchant bar producers have increased significantly, but it is believed to be hard for mills to raise their merchant bar export prices to desired levels amid the weakness of demand. 

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:
