Demand improves in Turkish rebar spot market

Ahead of the last working day of the week, there has been no significant change in local Turkish rebar spot prices as compared to spot prices early this week. Yesterday, February 18, Turkish steel producer Kardemir revised its rebar prices and closed its sales later on the same day after receiving orders for a total of around 65,250 mt of rebar.
 
Market sources state that demand for rebar in the local Turkish market has seen some improvement, while Kardemir's rebar sales have accelerated activity in the market. Also, heavy snowfalls in Turkey have prompted some end-users to conclude rebar purchases in the spot market amid concerns that prices may increase in the coming days.
