Demand for Turkish merchant bar exports at low levels

SteelOrbis has been informed that demand received by Turkish merchant bar producers from international markets has been at low levels both before and during the Christmas and New Year holidays, while Turkish producers have not received as much demand as they desire from their domestic markets in the given period.

On the other hand, taking advantage of falling import scrap quotations, Turkish merchant bar mills have reduced their export offers by an average of $17.5/mt week on week, but SteelOrbis has been informed that international demand for Turkish merchant bar is still weak.
