Ex-CIS steel billet offers have begun to gain clarity after the Christmas holiday in the region. Accordingly, producers from the CIS are offering steel billet at $495-505/mt FOB. Although buyers are seeking prices as low as $490/mt FOB, no transaction has been heard so far at this price level.

The latest steel billet transaction from the CIS to North Africa was concluded at $530/mt CIF ($500/mt FOB). However, the price idea of North African buyers is below $500/mt FOB.

On the other hand, Turkish buyers' price expectation for CIS steel billet is at about $510-515/mt CFR. The latest bookings from Turkey were concluded at $515-518/mt CFR Aliağa.
