Chinese rebar and wire rod export offers to move sideways during holiday

During the week ending September 29, Chinese export offer prices for rebar moved on a slight downtrend, while wire rod export prices remained stable. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $280-290/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers given by Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $305-315/mt FOB.

During the given week, the soft trend of Chinese domestic rebar and wire rod prices exerted a negative impact on Chinese export offer prices. However, with the National Day Holiday (October 1-7) about to start, it is expected that Chinese rebar and wire rod export prices will remain at current price levels during the holiday period, while it is more difficult to predict the subsequent price trend.
