SteelOrbis has learned that currently ex-China boron-added rebar offers to the southeast Asian market are standing at the level of $660/mt CFR, a competitive price level, while Chinese offers for mesh quality wire rod to the southeast Asian market stand in the price range of $660-670/mt CFR.
Although Japanese and South Korean steelmakers have raised their rebar prices amid scrap price hikes and increased demand, only a minor recovery has been seen in Chinese long steel exports.
