The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is currently $850/mt, against $840/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In June, Brazil exported 21,600 mt of rebars, but imported 30,200 mt of the product, against respectively 17,400 mt and 33,600 mt in May.
ArcelorMittal exported in May 15,800 mt of rebars at $790/mt to Bolivia and 800 mt at $797/mt to Paraguay, while Gerdau exported 4,600 mt at $468/mt to Colombia and 400 mt at $721/mt to Paraguay, all FOB conditions and different quality grades.
The rebar imports in June were all from Turkey, at $624/mt, also FOB conditions, all destined to ports in the State of Santa Catarina, where taxes are currently lower than in other states of the country.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL6,291/mt ($1,201/mt), against $6,406/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions. For the north and northeastern regions, prices are reportedly BRL70/mt higher, under the same conditions.
