Brazilian rebar export offers remain stable to South American countries

The reference price for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers remains $770/mt, stable over the last four weeks, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.

In August, Brazil exported 26,300 mt of rebar, while importing 27,500 mt of the product, comparable to 28,600 mt and 30,500 mt in July, respectively.

The exports in August were all destined to South American countries, of which 16,300 mt at $761/mt by Gerdau and 10,000 mt at $820/mt by ArcelorMittal. The imports were all from Turkey, in average at $664/mt, FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 6,336/mt ($1,205/mt), against BRL 6,425/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
