The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is currently in a range of $680/mt to $700/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries. The price level has remained stable over the last two weeks.
Sources mentioned that few export deals have been effectively closed recently, as producers remain focused on serving the domestic market.
In December, Brazil exported 39,500 mt of rebar, all destined to South American countries.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar offers for medium to large volumes are priced at BRL 5,293/mt ($968/mt), slightly less than the BRL 5,319/mt level from two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s Southeast and South regions. For the North and Northeastern regions, prices remain reportedly BRL 80/mt higher, under the same conditions.
