One of Algeria’s key steel producers, Tosyali Algerie, has once again decreased its domestic offers for longs. The company’s rebar prices have declined by $25/mt (DZD 3,000/mt) to $464/mt (DZD 61,000 mt) ex-works, while its wire rod prices have dropped by $27/mt (DZD 3,500/mt) to $481/mt (DZD 69,000 mt) ex-works. The mill had made a previous downward price revision in the middle of September.

Algerian Qatari Steel has as expected followed the same policy, though its prices are at higher levels. Currently, according to the sources, the supplier’s rebar is available in the market at $487/mt (DZD 64,000/mt) ex-works and its wire rod at $523/mt (DZD 75,000/mt) ex-works, down by $46-49/mt (DZD 5,500/mt) since the end of August.

US dollar-denominated prices exclude nine and 19 percent VAT for rebar and wire rod, respectively.

$1 = DZD 120.
