During the past week, buyers in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market have continued to make price inquiries but no deals have been concluded, resulting with slack demand. However, Turkish coated steel producers have increased their HDG prices for domestic market by $20/mt week on week, due to the ongoing uptrend of flat steel prices in Turkey and in the global market. But Turkish buyers consider the new price levels to be on the high side and are cautious about making new bookings.

Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market, excluding 18 percent VAT, are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Weekly Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

830-860

↑20

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

785-910

↑20

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

750-765

↑20

Meanwhile, Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have increased by $20/mt over the past week to $820-850/mt FOB.
