Weak demand in local Turkish HRC market

Over the past week, demand for domestic producers' products in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market has been continued to be slack as buyers have postponed their bookings, preferring to monitor the market, while producers' prices have remained stable week on week at $560-580/mt ex-works.

Meanwhile, demand for traders’ products in the Turkish HRC spot market has also remained weak and their prices have followed a sideways trend week on week.

The domestic sales prices of traders for local and imported hot rolled flat steel products in the Eregli and Gebze regions of Turkey are as follows:
