Sources close to SteelOrbis have confirmed that spot market prices for 0.012” G30 HDG coil have firmed for the second week in a row. The uptrend, sources note, is largely linked to a flurry of order activity from buyers across the globe, which in turn, have helped extend offshore lead times. It should also be mentioned that Brazilian material, which had previously been offered at price points slightly below what was being offered by Vietnam and Korea, “is out of the market until 2021 due to Section 232 quotas.”
