US import HDG offers still “very high”

Despite concerns that near-catastrophic winter weather patterns in the US could cause domestic finished steel prices to climb in the short term, buyers say they’re still “reluctant to purchase high priced imported steel that won’t get here for 4 months.”

Offshore prices continue to be strong, sources note, due to healthy demand and higher global input costs.
