Pricing for US import HDG coil may be stable week-over-week, but sources close to SteelOrbis have said that Brazil is now offering aggressively. Current offers from Brazil are more than $5 cwt. ($111/mt or $100/nt) below the next cheapest offer.
Buyers, however, are still wary about committing to significant tonnages due to concerns about price softening that’s forecasted to take place within the US domestic market.
