US HDG prices still climbing

US domestic HDG prices have continued to climb since our last report a week ago. And while historically the last two weeks of December have been mostly unexciting with regard to the steel market, 2020 has turned out to be an anomaly.

“Prices keep going up and even with Christmas and New Year’s, I don’t think anyone would be surprised to get back to work on January 4 to find out that prices are up again,” a source said.
