Spot market prices for US domestic HDG and Galvalume coil have firmed slightly week-over-week, sources note adding that the price range has narrowed up by $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) on the bottom end, in the past seven days.
Similar to previous weeks, sources report that spot tons are scarce, lead times are long, and mills “are still in the driver’s seat.” Additionally, as noted yesterday’s US import HDG report, the price differential between domestic and imported steel has led to an increased interest in booking offshore.
