The rising price trend in Turkey for hot-rolled coil (HRC) seems to have come to an end for now as mills have stabilized their offers and since trading activity has been moderate. The offers from Asian mills are still there in the market, while few CIS-based suppliers have the availability.
Locally, HRC in Turkey is at $960-980/mt ex-works in offers but deals to pipe-makers this week were closed at $950-960/mt ex-works for medium-sized lots. The mills are in the market to trade for May delivery and are not under much pressure for now. In the export segment, HRC offers from Turkey are at $930-940/mt FOB and $5-10/mt discounts are possible depending on the inquiry.
In the import segment, ex-Ukraine HRC is still available at $930-940/mt CFR depending on the coil weight, while a Russian seller closed its March rolling sales at slightly above $940/mt CFR, SteelOrbis has learned. Ex-India offers were heard at $940/mt CFR, following a $920-925/mt CFR sale at the end of last week. Ex-Indonesia prices are at up to $920/mt CFR with no deals heard. In addition, the latest offer from South Korea has been reported at $960/mt CFR.
