According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market is still on the weak side, contributing to a decrease of $10/mt on the low end of domestic producers’ prices over the past week. Market players state that buyers are postponing their PPGI bookings and still making purchases only to meet their immediate needs. At present, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $795-820/mt, while their offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $680-715/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $600-635/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis, exclude 18 percent VAT, and are for January production.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish PPGI in the export market is still slack. Turkish PPGI export prices have decreased by $20/mt on the low end week on week to $660-700/mt FOB for January production, since buyers considered the previous price range to be on the high side and have requested lower prices.
