Turkish flat steel export prices under pressure

This week, demand for Turkish flat steel in the export markets is still weak. Market players state that flat steel import offers from China and the CIS are putting downward pressure on price levels in Turkey’s targeted export markets, which in turn exerts pressure on flat steel export prices from Turkey. Currently, Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to the export markets are at $390-400/mt FOB, while Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) export offers are at $510-515/mt FOB, both for August production and both remaining stable over the past week.
