Demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) market has remained slack in the past week. Nevertheless, Turkish HDG producers have increased their prices by $25/mt on average over the given period due to lack of variety of galvanized products in the market and due to the upward movement of domestic quotations of hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for HDG production.

Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

580-600

↑25

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

520-530

↑25

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

485-500

↑25

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

On the other hand, demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets has improved slightly over the past week, but transaction volumes are still not at favorable levels. Due to the increase in demand, Turkish HDG export offers have increased by $10/mt on the lower end and by $20/mt on the upper end week on week to $580-600/mt FOB.
