Over the past week, demand has slowed down in the Turkish coated steel market but some prices have continued to increase. According to Turkish re-rollers, the market is now taking a pause after most buyers increased their stocks in last two weeks. Buyers expect slow demand during at least two to three weeks since they want to observe the situation in the flat steel markets. On the other hand, buyers say that producers are still trying to increase prices, but buyers are not sure yet even current price levels will be sustainable into next year. While most producers are currently offering for February and March deliveries, for buyers it is too early to decide whether to purchase material for March delivery. However, producers expect to receive orders for March production before the year-end.
Turkish mills’ offer prices for coated products for their domestic and export markets, for February production, are presented in the following table.
