During the past week, prices in the local Turkish hot rolled coil (HRC) market have continued to increase amid the rising movement of global raw material prices. Accordingly, Turkish buyers have stepped up their price inquiries for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil due to higher production costs. Demand in the local Turkish HDG market has remained at medium levels, while domestic HDG prices in Turkey have increased by $10/mt week on week.

Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

660-680

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

600-610

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.

On the other hand, the recovery seen in trading activity in the global HRC market last week has continued this week amid the rises in raw material prices, prompting Turkish HRC offers to the export markets to increase further. In this context, Turkish HDG exporters have also increased their offer prices, raising them by $10/mt week on week to the range of $640-670/mt FOB.
